Once upon a time.....

We hope you all had a lovely Easter break. A very warm welcome to our new starter Aidan and to our new Pre-school Assistant Annabelle Gentle.

This term the children will be taking part in story and growing activities. They will be enjoying stories such as The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aliens Love Underpants, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Elmer and The Rainbow Fish. They will then take part in activities linked to each story. These will include growing sunflowers and beans, creating our own aliens, making fish and elephant collages and going on a bear hunt! There will be plenty to keep the children busy and we look forward to spending more time outside as the weather (hopefully!) improves. The older children will continue doing activities in preparation for school.

We hope you all had a great time at the Cuckoo Fair! Thank you so much to everyone who supported our stall and annual Duck Race. We really appreciate your support, whether you helped man the stall, helped organise/run the duck race or came along to our stall to play some duck games! We'll let you know how much we raised soon.

Thank you so much to all of you who took part in our Ready Steady Listen sponsorship event. You raised an amazing £157.60 in sponsorship which was topped up by Usborne books to give the pre-school £252.48 to spend on new books! Very well done to Leland for raising the most sponsorship money and to Teddy for listening to the most stories! Thank you very much to Kate Drennan for organising this event.

The pre-school committee AGM will be held on Wednesday 17th May at 7.30pm, location TBC. As you may know, the pre-school is managed by a voluntary committee of parent volunteers and all interested parties wishing to take on a committee role must be elected at the AGM. This year we need to elect a new Secretary and hopefully a Fundraiser (or two!). However, we would also welcome anyone wishing to be a 'general' committee member without a named role. This is also a great opportunity to find out how things have gone at pre-school over the last year. We hope you can attend.

The Co-op Local Community Fund has raised an amazing £2288 for the pre-school! We are really grateful to the Co-op and everyone who supported us and will let you know what the money is used for. We have been successful in re-applying for the Local Community Fund and are fundraising again! This time we are hoping to raise money for our move to the new Memorial Hall premises.
