Spring is in the air.......

Welcome back after the half term break.

This term the children will be learning about Spring. They'll be taking part in lamb and chick themed activities and will hopefully have some frog spawn to look at. They will also be doing some Mother's Day and Easter activities and making their duck hats ready for Cuckoo Fair!

We will also be having a very special story time on World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March. Kate Drennan, Ava's Mum, is our local Usborne books representative and has kindly asked to come in and share a story with the children.

MEMORIAL HALL CONSULTATION

Please remember that the Parish Council's public consultation on the memorial hall redevelopment will be this Friday afternoon, 3rd March, 2.30-4pm outside the Co-op and Saturday 4th March 10-4pm at the Memorial Hall. Please go along to show your support for a new pre-school building. For more information please visit: http://downtonparishcouncil.gov.uk/consultations/public-consultation-on-memorial-hall-extension

CUCKOO FAIR 2017

Cuckoo fair will be on Saturday 29th April and we hope to have lots of little ducks taking part in the parade again this year. Your child will soon be making a duck hat at pre-school for which we ask for a small donation. Ducks for the duck race will also soon be on sale at pre-school and around the village. We hope that you can come along to cuckoo fair and will consider sparing an hour of your time to help us on our stall raising money for the pre-school. More details of all our duck events will follow soon!

SAINSBURY'S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS

Don't forget we are collecting Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers! If you have any you would like to donate please pop them in the box in the foyer.

SPONSORED LISTEN

Please remember that our Sponsored Listen is running from Monday 6th to Friday 10th March. This is a fantastic opportunity, organised by our local Usborne books representative Kate Drennan, to not only encourage a lifelong love of books and reading but also to raise money for some new books for the pre-school.

COMMITTEE MEETING

Our next committee meeting will be on Monday 13th March at 7.30pm at Jen Brewin's house, 107 The Borough. New members are always welcome. Please come along and see how you can get involved.

PARKING ON GRAVEL CLOSE

This is another polite request that you please do not drive down or park on Gravel Close when dropping off or collecting your child from pre-school. There have been several near misses again lately and also incidents where local residents have had their own vehicles blocked in/out. There is parking available at the Co-op and along The Borough.
