It has been an exciting term in the new building and the children have continued to love their new environment. The outside area is now very nearly completed and we now have full access to our entire playground!
We are entering our last few weeks of the Summer term, the children have really enjoyed our mini beast topic. They watched caterpillars turn into beautiful butterfly’s. They made a wormy and watched the worm channels, pass through the soil and sand layers. We explored our playground with magnifying glasses to try and find some tiny bugs and they created a wonderful hungry caterpillar picture made from recycled products.
At Downton Community Pre School this term we are getting creative and making winter and Christmas themed crafts. We will also be making salt dough decorations for the Christmas tree festival at St Lawrence's Church.
Practice for our nativity will start shortly and I am sure the adults at home will start hearing some special songs soon! Don't forget to add the 14th December to your diary so you can come along and watch.
Lastly but by no means least we will be writing some very exciting letters to Father Christmas. We are all very excited about the term ahead.
Welcome back to you all after the Summer break and a very warm welcome to all our new starters Poppy, Angel, India, Florence, William, Daisy and Tabitha.

Other stories will include The Gruffalo, What the ladybird heard and Rainbow fish.
The children have also started to make their own Christmas designs, ready to be made into cards and wrapping paper for the festive season. Don't forget to place your orders!
