Pre-school Parents Fundraising for the New Build

on Tuesday, 14 November 2017. Posted in Fundraising, Events

On Sunday 26 November Bridget Telfer, and her husband Kevin (parents of Rafe at pre-school), are running the Downton half marathon to raise funds for the pre-school's move into new purpose built premises in Downton next year.

If you would like to sponsor them then please follow this link:

All funds raised will go towards equipment, furniture, IT equipment, toys and indoor and outdoor play equipment for the new build - which is due to open in September 2018! Thank you for any support you can give to the pre-school.

Co-op Local Community Fund

on Sunday, 12 November 2017. Posted in Fundraising, General

We have been given an amazing opportunity by the Co-op Local Community Fund for the third time!

We are extremely lucky to have been chosen as a local cause again. The second round of fundraising has just finished and we are excitedly waiting to hear how much has been raised.

The Co-op membership scheme allows you to support local causes. Every time a member chooses to buy a Co-op branded product or use their services and swipes their members card at the till, 1% of what they spend goes to their chosen charity.

Thank you to everyone who ordered Christmas cards, gift wrap and labels this year. The children made some lovely Christmas designs and IQ Cards transformed them into great products for us. Your combined orders raised £42.90 for the pre-school!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

Welcome back to you all after the half term break and a very warm welcome to our new starter William.

This is a very exciting term for the children in the run up to Christmas. They will be doing some firework junk modelling at the start of term. Later we will be preparing for the Nativity play, making Christmas decorations, decorating gingerbread for the Partridge Fair, writing letters to Santa and doing lots of festive crafts. We will also be doing some crafts for Diwali and Hannukah. There will be plenty to keep them busy!

We hope you are pleased with your Christmas card orders. The children did a great job with their designs and take real pride in seeing them used.

Partridge Fair 2017

on Wednesday, 01 November 2017. Posted in Fundraising, Events

The annual Partridge Fair will be held in Downton on Saturday 2nd December 2017.

As usual, the pre-school stall will be selling homemade gingerbread and hot chocolate. All the money raised will go to the pre-school. Please come along and support us.

Frock Swap

on Wednesday, 01 November 2017. Posted in Fundraising, Events

We would like to say a huge thank you for all the support we received at our Frock Swap in October. Local ladies had a great time swapping clothes, drinking prosecco, browsing the stalls and having their nails done!

It was a huge success with people already asking when our next event will be! We raised £542 which will go towards kitting out the new pre-school build.

A special thank you to Kate Drennan and the pre-school committee for organising and running such a successful fundraiser. Well done everyone.
