Summer is here.....

We hope you all had a lovely half term break.

This term the children will be learning about mini-beasts and summer. We'll be making ladybirds, butterflies, masks and caterpillar necklaces and going on some bug hunts. The children are currently nurturing some caterpillars and will be watching their amazing transformation into butterflies. The children will also be practising for Sports Day and doing a Father's Day activity.

The older children are continuing their activities in preparation for school and are starting their class visits.

Once upon a time.....

We hope you all had a lovely Easter break. A very warm welcome to our new starter Aidan and to our new Pre-school Assistant Annabelle Gentle.

This term the children will be taking part in story and growing activities. They will be enjoying stories such as The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aliens Love Underpants, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Elmer and The Rainbow Fish. They will then take part in activities linked to each story. These will include growing sunflowers and beans, creating our own aliens, making fish and elephant collages and going on a bear hunt! There will be plenty to keep the children busy and we look forward to spending more time outside as the weather (hopefully!) improves. The older children will continue doing activities in preparation for school.

Spring is in the air.......

Welcome back after the half term break.

This term the children will be learning about Spring. They'll be taking part in lamb and chick themed activities and will hopefully have some frog spawn to look at. They will also be doing some Mother's Day and Easter activities and making their duck hats ready for Cuckoo Fair!

We will also be having a very special story time on World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March. Kate Drennan, Ava's Mum, is our local Usborne books representative and has kindly asked to come in and share a story with the children.

Happy New Year!

Welcome back. We hope you had a lovely Christmas and happy new year to you all. Firstly a very warm welcome to our new starters Elsie, Charlotte, Annabelle, Ava and Jonah.

This term the children will be continuing to learn about Winter but will also be looking at arctic animals and the northern lights. We'll be making frosty pictures, creating our own animals and making northern light pictures. For Chinese New Year in February, the children will also be trying some Chinese food.

Well done to all the children who took part in the Christmas Nativity play last term. They all tried really hard and sang beautifully. We're sure you'll agree they did a great job.

The annual Partridge Fair was held in Downton on Saturday 3rd December 2016.

As usual, the pre-school stall sold homemade gingerbread and hot chocolate. Thank you to all the fantastic staff and parents who made gingerbread for us to sell and for all of you who came along to support us.

We made £209.31 for the pre-school!
